MammaKind – a baby bank supporting families in south-east London

Being a parent is stressful enough without worrying about where the next meal or nappy will come from, or whether your baby has a safe space to sleep. Recently, austerity and the fallout from the Covid-19 pandemic means that more mothers than ever cannot afford basic supplies. That’s where we come in.

MammaKind is a baby bank that collects and distributes pre-loved and new donations of clothing, toiletries, toys and baby equipment, as well as baby food, to help struggling families with children aged five years and under. Working with a network of referral partners who send families to us, we support those in the south-east London boroughs of Bromley, Bexley, Greenwich and Lewisham.

I was very afraid of not having items for my baby when I gave birth, but what I have got is even beyond my expectations. I would like to thank your organisation and those who donated but also those who packed all those items meticulously and with love.”
